In response, as I stated before, as one who has worked with composers, I know
that even with metronome markings there can be intelligent discussion
regarding tempos. Composers are after all not always intimately aware of the
particular instrument's performance problems. They do, and have always had to
communicate with performers of their era. I still stand by my previous
statements. How can you be so certain about the actual speed that Weber
really intended?
