I repeat that "Alla Polacca" does not translate to "Presto" or "Prestissimo"
or "Allegro". It is hardly a printing error. Yes the player must interpret
as music is a performing art. Marks on a piece of paper are not music and
don't become music until it is played. I do not intend to imply that the
printed music is a "holy text" to be followed literally for, as you say, not
everything can be written down. But this drastic a difference in tempo is
hardly reasonable artistic interpretation, particularly when the composer
has marked his intent.
