Subj: [kl] Stadler's Basset Clarinet: a picture and an article
Date: Sun, 25 Oct 1998 14:07:36 -0500

The good folks at the American Musical Society have sent me a photo copy of
the excellent article by Pamela L. Poulin on Stadler's basset clarinet. The
article is based primarily on the recent discovery in Riga, Latvia of a
printed program on one of his concerts of 1794. The article includes a wood
block print of his actual instrument. I couldn't believe my eyes: a very
strange ax, indeed!

I decided to scan this article in order to share it with our list. However,
our list is unable to handle such a large amount of data. I'm still willing
to email this article to any of you who may request it from me directly.
