My teacher (Gary Sperl) will be performing the Adams' Buttons as well! He
will
be performing Sat & Sun November 7 & 8. It will be with the Knoxville
Chamber Orchestra at the Tennessee Theater. Hope anyone nearby can attend!

As a curiosity--I asked my teacher (right before he played a recording of the
Adams for me) why he thought that there weren't very many
clarinetists-turned-composers. There was an interview with Adams before the
piece began & it turns out that John Adams was a clarinetist! Interesting, I
thought, that he would write such a difficult piece for us! Tell me--does it
lay out on the horn OK or is it as impossible as it sounds?

Thanks to everyone for your input on the orch. works beginning with
solo clarinet. I did well on that assignment!
