<<<That's what I mean. Registered mail means that nothing can be sent
unsealed. All seals and I mean all seals on the package are inspected,
approved, dated and stamped by the post office and shipped under lock and
key and guarded with guns. I used to work in the Registered mail section of
the PO. Jewelry and many other valuables are shipped this way.>>>

I wonder how many of the Listers are actively engaged in protecting
copyrights on a day to day basis. I know of one--me. Protecting copyrights
is what I do, day in and day out. While I am at best a high-mediocre
clarinet player, I am a pretty damn good lawyer and this is *exactly* what I
do.

DO NOT DO THE MAIL TO YOURSELF THING. It is stupider than stupid, and of
no--and I mean absolutely zero, nada, zilch--value when the time comes to
litigate. Judges usually won't even admit it as evidence, taking judicial
notice that gummed envelopes can be tampered with. It does not
work--ever--and to trust your life's work to this technique when the
alternative is a measly twenty bucks is nothing short of legal lunacy. Do
not do it. Don't. No, no, no, no, no, no no no no.

Now I am sure that there are people who discount this because they are
"sure" that the mail works--just like any other folklore remedy. Sure--go
ahead. Be aware, however, that this is akin to ignoring the please of a
brain surgeon and trying to take that li'l 'ol tumor out yourself with a
razor blade and a bottle of good scotch. It's about that bright.
