Actually, list price is a pretty good indicator. These guys know their
competition, and price their products comparably, just like they do for
cars, computers, or any other consumer item. Note that most major brand
student model instruments of all types, especially brasses, are list priced
very close, often within $10 or $20 of each other. Pro horns list priced
within a hundred or two are considered, by the manufacturer at least, to be
comparable. but it really comes down to what "sings" for you (and your
wallet).
