I have to agree. Years ago I tried an Infinite before purchasing the R13. It
may be "wrong" to judge based on a single instrument, but the Infinite I tried
was merely "ok." My perception was confirmed by a professional clarinetist
whom I asked to try the instrument for me. In retrospect (and now that I have
had the opportunity to play LOTS of different clarinets), the Infinite I tried
was more akin to an intermediate clarinet. It just didn't "sing" as well as
the R13 does for me.
