I was able to play a Selmer Signature just yesterday at Himie Voxman's house -
it's a pretty nice horn! It's quite a bit heavier than my R13; he says
there's more wood to it. The tone holes are all built up from the body of the
horn, the way they are on metal clarinets. There is a duplicate Eb/Ab on the
left hand, and an adjustable thumb rest. My impression was that the tone
didn't seem to spread at all when playing very loudly, and the instrument
responded well at low dynamic levels. Seemed to play well in tune, but we
didn't check intervals on a tuner. It blows quite differently from my R13,
but I'd be hard pressed to describe exactly how! I don't know what it lists
for, but believe it's meant to be a premium level horn - if an Opus is too
expensive, I'll bet the Signature will be as well.
