Thanks, Nancy. Actually, the Subject & body are totally ignored. Just a
technical nit :^)

To further clarify the add/drop situation:
Jim Fay, Cap Bromley, and I don't remove or add members to the list by a
direct request to us. We ask that everyone use the unsubscribe/subscribe
mail addresses; that cuts down on "malicious" usage (people
subscribing/unsubscribing their "friends".

However, there are times when it's impossible to respond to the confirmation
message that the server sends back (due to a few email system's restraints).
When that happens, and we're (the admins) are contacted, we will always ask
for the server's response. That way we can verify that the person is who
they claim to be via a few tricks in the return code.

There have been times when we can't unsubscribe someone because they have no
idea what their email address is or was! In that case we need the entire set
of headers off of a Klarinet message - we can't just guess what the address
is! In one particular case the email was being forwarded from some site
(unknown by anyone) to the recipient, but some email system in between
anonymized the header (the From: line was re-written!). I don't know the
result of that one, other than I think the person finally changed their
email address.
