Sorry if I missed mention of this earlier, but I use a splint called a "cock
up" (no lie) at night on my right hand when I go to bed. (My right hand seems
to have suffered worse from 15 years' as a computer journalist than my left
hand has.) You can find "cock ups" at surgical supply stores. I paid about $15
for mine. It keeps the hand in a neutral, relaxed position. Having used one
for several months, I find that this device works for me. You can remove the
metal splint and wash the support in the laundry.
