I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel syndrom about a month or so ago, and was
told the same thing...to not play for a few weeks and then minimal for months
after that. Well, I did as instructed and by the end of the 2nd week, it felt
better, but as soon as I started playing again, it flaired up again.

My only advice is to wear a wrist splint whenever and as much as you can,
continue to play, but only if it doesn't hurt! If the pain continues, go to a
specialist for a better exam.
