I have a question for the professionals on the list:

How often you have your clarinet serviced and how many clarinets you swap
around for gigs?

I have heard that some pro oboists order a half dozen new oboes at a time and
rotate them-- figuratively speaking, of course ;-)

I've been playing a lot the past year and find that I noodle with my Buffet
every few months because I'm not happy with a pad or three or I need to make
an adjustment because some cork is worn down a smidge. I sometimes play
outdoors by the ocean or in cold museums or in the evening (with doors open to
a lake or whatever). My gigs are not exactly climate controlled. I have only
one main instrument so it gets a lot of "play time."
