My remarks weren't intended to be a criticism of the scales book,
David, or of your introduction. One thing that you said in your
introduction prompted me to start a conversation of my own about
something that I notice is a very interesting issue in performance.

If I have offended you, I apologise. But from what you write above, it
does seem as though we still differ. See my previous post.

I'm unlikely to read the book. But I am interested in what you, and its
author, think. (More even, than in what Reg Kell *did*, and he was my
great boyhood hero.)
