When away from the clarinet for a time you can maintain some of
your chops by a rather simple exercise. It starts by saying EEEEEEE and then
going to saying U. Do this rapidly saying EUEUEUEUEUEUEUEU......exaggerating
both sylables so the corners of your mouth go all the way back and teeth are
showing on E and the corners go all the way in for U. Do this continuously
and these muscles will get stronger and you will maintain endurance even
if you are away from the horn.
