To Anne Hamill, who asked about Carl Stamitz' 3rd clarinet concerto, I
have the following information.
According to Grove's and other sources, J. Wojciechowski edited this
concerto from a contemporary manuscript that is at the Austrian National
Library in Vienna. Unless you can get a copy of the 18th-century ms,
Wojciechowski's edition of 1957 may be the closest to an Urtext that you
will be able to find. A piano reduction is available from C. F. Peters,
and orchestral rental parts are presumably available from the same
source. I hope this helps!
P.S.: I believe that a total of 10 clarinet concerti (not counting
concerti for clarinet plus another solo instrument) are currently
attributed to C. Stamitz. They are numbered 1 - 4 and 6 - 11; no. 5 is
no longer believed to have been written by him.
