Just now working on transcribing the Hindemith
clar/contrabass duo for clar/bassclar, and am
having difficulties deciding which octave to put
the bass clar....any suggestions? After entering
the music in Encore and playing it back, the lower
octave sounds better but has to jump octaves a
couple of times for lack of range on the b.clar....
Then again, the part says it's for cello or contrabass
because Hindemith's wife could play either....

BTW Jack Kissinger, thanks for suggesting the piece!
I've only begun transcribing, but if anyone wants
a copy, just email me privately....
