Look, it's me again.
I've definitely seen this discussion before though the creative
suggestions people came up with (besides whistling) seems to have escaped
me.
When brass players are away from their horns they can get a fari
workout by buzzing. I've heard about a trombone student who didn't want
to carry his mouthpiece around with him so he would support a pencil
between his lips just to give the muscles in that area a workout. What do
us winds players do. As I mentioned, advice on the sax list was to
whistle (which I do a lot anyway when it won't annoy anyone). Would the
pencil thing work? There are a lot of muscles in that region of the face
which ones should be targeted. Thoughts, ideas, your quirky habit?

Also I was seeking suggestions for building finger speed in my
non-dominant hand. I'm right handed and have always had a little bit of
trouble (especially with trills) matching my right hand for finger speed.
Any tricks of the trade.

Thanks for sharing,
Jamileh
