I had the thumbrest moved up on my clarinet years ago when I began to
have some pain in my right wrist. The pain then went away.

I've noticed that people with larger hands tend to have this done a lot.

Obviously you should see a doctor, this is just an observation.

Subject: [kl] Carpel Tunnel Syndrom

I have been diagnosed with carpel tunnel about 10 months ago. I found
it
hard to play at times, but it really has not affected my playing until
recently. Now, when I practice, I notice I can play only for about 10
-15
minutes before my hand gets tired and numb. It has affected my playing
greatly because I do not get as much playing time in an hour or so that
I
should. Does anyone have any ideas about what I should do? Btw, going
to
a doctor did not help, he just recommend that I should stop playing, and
I
do not see that as a option.

Does anyone have other ideas??

thanks

Michal
