Both of Brymer's books are a great (IMHO) addition to any clarinetist's
library. I was a pupil of Brymer while he was in the process of researching
and writing the CLARINET. He had devoted one entire large room in his
house to house the materials he had gathered in preparation for writing
the book. He had several dissertations, letters, books and many materials
that he researched. It was quite a feat. He was then the principal
clarinet with BBC and also doing a BBC radio program on music. He was
a very active and busy player. PS-Emma Johnson also studied quite a
bit with Pamela Weston in London. Ron Monsen
