LEAPS AND BOUNDS

This is in addition to what I wrote last time about tongue position in
the mouth.

I had mentioned two examples and the difficulty slurring downwards.
One was clarion E to low A.
The other was Middle (clarion) B to low E.
These are twelfths downwards.
We know it's easy to jump up. But downward is more difficult.
NOT impossible at all.
But more difficult.
The way I do it is: I diminish on the note before going down and then
the lower note comes out more promptly.
Even without doing this diminuendo, the lower note will emerge but not
as soon as you would like it to.

As far as jumping from the low register to the higher register, one can
also diminish slightly before the actual move and get a good result.

These are things that have to be practiced and persevered with.
Nothing is impossible. But maybe more tricky.
