Subj: [kl] Pledge Drive Update
Date: Mon, 5 Oct 1998 20:08:59 -0400

Yet another day rolls around, and you're all tired of hearing from me.
But ... the pledge drive goes on.

Three new members of the Sneezy II Pledge Club have joined the rolls:
Cathy Barta, Harold J. Yaffe, and Kevin Bowman. Thank you very much!
Keith P. Koons has gone from an accidental "Anonymous" to a real name
:^) and a couple of people have increased their donation from what they
originally thought they could donate! A heartfelt thank you.

I've bought most of the immediately required pieces (and went into hock
a bit) and built a working Sneezy II this weekend. It boots now, but
lacks enough disk space to be a real server (along with a few more
idiosyncrasies like using a _very_ old monitor that's barely readable).
If we could just reach that $5000.00 goal we'll have a server that will
keep us going and become a clarinet "on-line library" for some good
number of years.

If you or an organization you belong to or know of, along with small
companies, needs Web server space, remember, a donation of $50.00 or
more will allow you to put your pages on Sneezy II (with reasonable
limits of, let's say, 50Mb or so of page & database space) and I'll
route your site (the $70.00 domain name registration will be billed
directly to you, but I'll fill out the paperwork and set up the server
for free).

If you just want your name on the side of the new Sneezy II, any
donation over a dollar (US) is welcome. For further info, check
www.sneezy.org/PledgePage.html or drop me a line.

I'm starting talks with a few clarinet friends to establish the
"hand-over" of Sneezy should something happen to me - just thought I'd
let every know. I don't have any health problems (that I'm aware of) but
the unexpected is, well, unexpected and I want to make sure that there's
some official turnover of the machinery. I may legally own the
machinery, but I don't morally own any of it.

Thanks,
----
