Well......
I bought a "cheap" clarinet in Czechoslovakia (now The Czech Republic).
It's an Amati.
It's a Bb, but it goes down to low Eb.
Although there was a bit of a language barrier,
the guy I bought it from suggested that the low Eb was required in case one
wanted to
transpose A Clarinet parts.
(I really only bought it because I thought I'd pull it out sometime on a
"dixie" gig and
freak the other guys out by playing a low Eb)
