LOL! I came to love Paul after that. I remember the first time I got his
postitive approval for something during a rehearsal. I can't remember what I
did, but I remember that he blew me a kiss!

This was at the University of Connecticut where Paul was from about 1984 to
1995. The students there were very sad when he left for SMU, but then SMU
gets a truely fine conductor! His technique was truely beautiful to watch.
He'd always have everything in place by the first rehearsal. As he told a
good friend of mine once, "You have to study your scores, and don't run around
after women."
