I won't say I don't understand why you feel that way,
but The Nutcracker was always a cherished event in my
family throughout my childhood. Not just any production,
mind you. I think we probably saw the S.F. Ballet version
ten years in a row when I was growing up, the very last
time being 3 months before my mother passed away. I've
now *played* the production dozens of times over the
last few years, and I never stop enjoying the music.
I'm probably an exception in my enduring love for
it among those who sit in the pit year after year.
Ah well, to each his own. 'Sorry for getting your
residence town mixed up. Los Altos. Los Altos!
