The only thing I can think of is the angle of the mouthpiece might be making a
difference. Perhaps you hold the so that the mouthpiece comes into your mouth
at an almost 90 degree angle, and on the other instruments the angle is tilted
upward. If then you tongue directly on the tip of the reed, or between the tip
of the reed and the mouthpiece, saliva would more readily enter the
mouthpiece. Just MHO.......
