1. Soak time. If something really offends you, take about a day before
you respond. You may discover that you have a different viewpoint.
2. Delete key. Simply delete things that don't appeal to you and don't
flame the fire (gee, what am I doing, I know...)
3. A worldwide view. Keep in mind that not all users want to get the
same thing from the list. For instance, I want someone to tell me how
to single tongue 16th notes at 166, but that might be really boring to
someone whose goal is to find out about early clarinet intonation ...
4. Use lots of "in my opinion", "I believe", smiley faces and
disclaimers.
5. And lastly, don't attempt to "speak for" large groups of people.

I promise... if you flame me about this, I'm not going to respond. So,
there. :-)
