This is only one persons point of view; albeit I believe it doesn't even
deserve a reply.
i firmly believe the reason that many schools music departments thrive
on marching band is because of the 'tropies and awards' which they
obviously do not receive in the 'real' areas of music, being concert
orchestras and bands.
