It's an interesting mouthpiece. I can use a soft reed, get good volume, and it doesn't
close up when I do it.
As Richard once told me when I asked him some technical questions about his mouthpieces:
"You like it - you buy it. You don't like it - don't buy it. I don't worry about any
of the 'technical' aspects, I just make mouthpieces."
