A relationship to this thread:

ANY mouthpiece advertised - if it has been refaced by someone other than
the maker - is no longer the same mouthpiece. Now.....the advertiser can
say it is a such and such blank that has been refaced, but, depending on
the qualifications of the refacer, the mouthpiece will never play like it
did originally ....albeit very close (again, depending on the particular
facing). The problem comes with the fact that, when a mouthpiece is
refaced, material is removed from the lay which definitely affects the
depth of the baffle and throat........those need to be adjusted - but are
such big variables that the mouthpiece is never quite the same.

Everette Matson is a PREMIERE refacer.....in the same vintage as
Kasper.....but.....he is NOT Kasper.

A bit of trivia.....the Ann Arbor Kaspers are made by the same individual
as the Cicero Kaspers......virtually identical.....I have a receipt for
one made in 1955 that was signed by Kasper with his previous address being
listed as Cicero. There are many people who don't feel the mouthpieces
are as good.....they are incorrect.
