If it feels absolutely and completely unbearable, its either wrong, or its
wrong for you. (As I said, it's the proper method, but it's not for
everyone.)

I felt the same way, that it was unnatural, for nearly two semesters as
Dr. Borchert continued to work with me on it. THen one day, I got it -
just out of the blue. I had actually been using tip to tip, but the rest
of my tongue was in the wrong position, which was why it was uncomfy for
me. I tried a different tongue position, and voila, suddenly, it felt,
and sounded, very good. Just play it with. It took me two semesters. It
may take longer or short other people, or it may not be your method at
all.
