I haven't heard the most important part yet from anyone. What about air?
Without air, great fingers and a firm embouchure are useless! Make sure
you have a solid, steady air column, which for these two notes (I'm
assuming we're talking about C on the 2nd leger line above the treble
staff) can be something of a trial!

Try the following:

play a long open G and stop.
play a long C3 and stop
repeat this procedure a few times (mf-f dynamic)

*then* try the slur, and see what happens.
