Many of you have learned that Alan Balter passed this summer.
The Memphis Symphony recently held a Memorial service for
Maestro Balter. We are both schocked and saddened by this loss
in the clarinet community. At present, we are exploring ways of
paying homage to Alan's accomplishments and contributions to
symphonic music. Please mail your expressions to IN%"alizza

individuals are aware of your sentiments. This is important as
it documents Alan's stature and establishes a basis for building
