I've never seen an aluminum Buescher, but LOTS of silver ones...probably at least 1/3 of the Bueschers that I've seen. My saxophone teacher in college loved Bueschers and most of his studio played on them (I still like my Selmer.) If it weights more than 3 pounds it would HAVE to be silver. I have never heard of a solid aluminum horn by any maker.

Denting would be so easy with thin metal (since that horn is old, the good aluminum alloys were not available when Buescher made saxophones) that you could probably ding it with a single finger. Otherwise, to avoid the aluminum crumpling, the horn's dimensions would have to be so thick, that the horn would look bloated, and the keys would be difficult to use.

Try the silver polish before-mentioned on the list a few days ago. It WILL pick up black tarnish, no matter how little, if the horn is silver.
