Tony's advice is quite sound.......however, to answer the above question,
I believe that Buffet's basset clarinet is a different overall design than
the standard A clarinet - that is, the top joint is slightly different to
accomodate the accoustical problems associated with the lower joint's
extension. Therefore, I don't believe it is possible to purchase a basset
clarinet lower joint from Buffet - and even if you could, it wouldn't work
properly.
