I had to sand my Selmer barrel as well a couple of years back. I used a
deep well socket (I forget how many mm it was - but about 3 mm smaller than
the id of my barrel) and wrapped the end of the socket with a thin strip
of #400 sandpaper in a spiral. I used this to keep the inner walls of the
barrel parallel. After a few minutes I had it perfect.
