I've never tried a Jupiter clarinet, but I did try a Jupiter baritone sax a
few months ago, at a local Northern Virginia music store that carries the
Jupiter line. The store owner said he has been to the Jupiter factory in
China, and that "they've come a long way". The bari sax I tried looked
reasonably good, and the workmanship was decent, but it played EL STINKO.
I put the horn back on the shelf after about 20 seconds of playing. It was
that bad. If they could get the playing qualities up to their current
level of workmanship, they might have a decent horn, but until then, forget
it. As I said, I can't speak for their other woodwinds.
