I believe "cold-pressed" is a process used to express oil from a seed without
using heat. The oil is called "virgn" oil. By using heat, the producer can
extract more oil but it is of inferior quality. I assume some contaminants
come through in hot-pressed oil.

I buy almond oil from a health food store. The bottle is marked "expeller
pressed." I'm not sure if that is equivalent to "cold-pressed" or not. But the
oil is wonderfully clear and does not seem to go rancid even when stored at
room temperature for months. This is the only oil I use to oil the bore of
wood clarinets. And, of course, I use it sparingly so a bottle lasts for ages.
