Drilling is what you have to do after you have already tried and failed
with your method, due to the fact that someone else (usually the player's
father) has previously said, "Gimme that! *I* can get it through!" It's
kind of like all the trumpet leadpipe repairs we get in that might
otherwise have been simple mouthpiece-puller jobs if Dad hadn't given it a
shot with the Vice-grips first. :-)
