I actually posted this as a joke, but thought about it after the fact as a totally different prospect. What if a stable South American country (although most have changed govenments in the last 20 years) was wanting to get a new cash crop. Better yet, what about Louisiana Bayou areas? Humid and hot. Does grenadilla have to have heat ALL year? What about areas outside of LA? If it didn't have to have heat all year long, the Carolinas, or Georgia would be great.

It could be something to insure a great future for a country/state in need of a future. Obviously this won't give any money until at least 2030 or 2040, but think of the possibilities for that government. 100 years ago, Georgia was quite prosperous before the Civil War, and it would only take 60 years to give it another cash crop to put it back with an income for the people in the rural area, which is usually overlooked. 60 years is long in terms of the way a lot of investors look at returns, but a government obviously plans to be here 60 years from now, and a state in the US probably has a better chance than a lot of third world countries.

Any thoughts?

There's a thought. Can grenadilla be grown commercially, perhaps turned into a cash crop for countries with the right growing conditions? Obviously a long-term proposition, might it be possible with the help of a relatively stable government?
