I played the Peacocks for Jazz Band Freshmen year on bass. It is a gorgeous
ballad, and well suited for the bass. I useed a Vandoren B45 on a Noblet wood
bass. It projected extremely well. I also used a Harrison ligature, and La
Voz reeds. This combination was perfect for that ballad. Give it a try,
