I have experienced this problem before. Overblowing can be a bad or a
good thing. It can be a good thing if you are in a devilish technical
passage and need to jump a twelfth. It can be a bad thing if you do not
want to jump above an octave. Reeds, moutpieces, instruments or any
equipment that is resistent can cause you to overblow. Do you break your
reeds in when they are new? If you don't you will have resistent reeds.
Also be careful that you are not overbiting, which can also aide to
jumping octaves, fifths,etc... Just relax your embouchure and do not blow
too much.(^-^)
