not match the rest of the serial numbers. I think that that is worth the
money. What if you drop your clarinet, and the tenon breaks off?

Dear Ms Abraham,

I would like tell a little thing about new part, when a clarinet upper joint
craks you can replace only the upper joint and match it with the rest of the
instrument, you have to spent the time tunning and listenning the musician and
do customize work, Then you put the serial number of your lower joint on the
upper joint and you don't have to worry about unmatched serial number. I do
that a lot, a the matter fact I did it on Mark Charette's son's Festival and I
spend the time with him make sure every thing was working fine. I did that for
other to and I am still alive so I guess they must be happy or they leaved the
country :-). Seriously where you must be carefull it's when somebody try to
put a upper or lower joint that already has a different serial number, nothing
wrong with that, just make sure it is not a stolen instrument and do the same
customizing work I talked about with a personne you are confortable doing this
with. You have good repair men in this country, i have met a lot of them. The
point is you always can do every thing you want on your clarinet you just have
to spend the time with the technician and do little by little. It is not an
easy job, so find somebody who will be confortable to do it.
