That's an interesting point you bring up! I usually fold mine neatly rather
than bunch it up, but I suppose the effect is the same. I always thought
moisture was harmful to the wood clarinet, but you mentioned it helps the
humidity in the case (adding moisture to the air is good?).

I definitely believe it would be better for the swab to leave it out rather
than all bunched. Does it matter if the swab is silk?
