The late Robert Vagner, Professor Emeritus University of Oregon, traveled
to the Vandoren Reed Factory in the late '60's and hand selected (played)
over 200 reeds - which he brought back and kept in a drawer. His wife
asked if she could use his old reeds to make a clock out of - and he
agreed - told her where the reeds were, and left for school. He came home
to find 95 of his best, hand selected reeds glued to a clock - he came
UNGLUED. It is one of the few times he considered his marraige vows - or
so he said (his wife, btw is still alive and is a beautiful, charming
lady!).

I've seen the clock......actually pretty nice!
