In a message dated 98-09-15 04:15:55 EDT, you write:

<< The dialect of French spoken in Provence, the south of France, was called
langue d'oc, because the southerners' word for yes was oc, not oui. Le pays
d'oc, then, would be southern France. I am told that the old form oc is
seldom heard today. Perhaps M. Kloc will have more to say on the subject.

An exact translation would be awkward, and I would English the title as
Variations on a Provencal Air, or perhaps Variations on a Languedoc Air.

Hi ,

It is me again, Lee is correct and I forgot to talk about this on my previous
postage, I am so exited when I talk about my country ( Nobody is perfect and I
am French :-) )
Like Lee said Oc was a langauge like I explain before and some of people in
France want the states be free, like Corsica wich is an Island on the
Mediteranea sea, Britany, etc . It is not to much the matter of having their
own parlement etc it is that they want to keep their identity and culture and
have the kids be abble to learn their language at school with French and other
foreign langauge. My parents leave in Provence now, My father build their home
35 years ago and they went in vacations for 3 months every years since then
before moving definitly 4 years ago and they learned the coutume and right of
the people in their village because if you don't do it you are a foreigner at
their eyes. It is a small village of 2000 people, wich goes around 10000
during the summer, It is called Maussane Les Alpilles , I spend all my youth
vacation there and grew up with the kid of this village, no matter what I was
the Parisian guy, In 95 i get married in this village and every one came at
the door of the city hall and made a big line and song. I was accepted after
28 years and people came at the reception at my parents place. They are very
strong people who are warm and kind when you respect their culture but can be
very hard when they don't like people. It is why the French governement be
carrefull at what he does on those area. I would like to apologize to the
people that are not interested on my life, I just took that as an example
because it is easier for me.

Musically Yours
