Good question - I have no clue, really. But I still don't have to worry
about cracks. Of course, having the stick turn to dust as it's in my
hands in 20 or so years is indeed, a totally different matter. But I have
faith, nevertheless. And should such a thing happen - it won't matter,
because in 28 years, I'll either be playing principal clarinet with the
London Symphony, but most likely conducting, and I'll have enough money to
buy several varieties of clarinets and harmony clarinets every day, and
I'll have people to do the meticulous chore of preparing reeds and
adjusting screws for me whenever I play. I'll own several exotic sports
cars; my wife will own a fleet of Benzes (it's the only car she likes - go
fig), and Buffet, LeBlanc, Selmer, and Yamaha will all be begging me to
endorse all their instruments because I will be so famous that I could
simply hold up whatever instrument and everyone in the world would go out
and buy it. So, by that time, Greenie evaporation is a small matter.
