My $0.02--

DO EXACTLY WHAT MR. KLOC SAYS. Play no more than 30 mins. Do not oil your
bore.

I did not break in my R13--but it didn't crack. In 20/20 hindsight, I
realize that I was just plain lucky.

Buffet warrants their horns against cracking--the cracked ones end up with
Mr. Kloc. He definitely has the vested interest in seeing that the horns
don't crack--and probably the most experience with cracked joints as well,
given what he does and who he works for. Since neither you nor he want to
avail yourselves of the warranty, I would advise you to follow his
instructions.

Two pennies worth . . .

However, Francois Kloc of Buffet recommends against oiling the bore of
the new Buffet instruments.
