In most of the groups I play in, tuning to A=440, the barrel on my 1971
Selmer Series 10, and those of most others around me, must be pulled OUT a
bit. This is really as it should be, to allow for some tuning correction
in EITHER direction. But if this is not the case for you, a shorter barrel
is the answer, probably 2mm shorter for safety. If it bothers you to have
a gap in the bore, get some tuning rings.
