Subj: [kl] swabs vs. shove-its

I'm curious to whether swabs are better or worse than using shove-it pads in
wooden clarinets.

I ask because I've been using both until recently, when time became more
critical, I've left out swabbing and just inserted the sove-its and let the
clarinet be. Is this safe practice for wooden clarinets? (I've only used
shove-its on my plastic for the last 5 years and they've worked well there.)

Thanks.
