I just obtained a old Carl Fischer Boehm clarinet for a very reasonable price.
It has the word France on all four sections.
The thumb rest is similar/seems identical to an old Buffet.
The quarter turned thumb rest with screws above and below it, which is routed into the clarinet.
There is not serial number anywhere on the clarinet.
The word Buffet is not on the clarinet.
It has integral undercut tone holes.
And the wood looks similar to Buffets of the period.
(unstained/brownish with the grain not being hidden).

I feel it likely the instrument was manufactured by Buffet but
do not know if it was a student/intermediate line horn, or just a
Buffet stencil (yes sax speak).

Can anyone give me more information on this horn.

I am starting to repad and recork it. Will let you know what it sounds like.
